Event aims to show off tastiness of downtown Officical Event Announcement - Wednesday, April 25, 2007 Everyone knows what great restaurants Muskegon has. Now there will be an event that brings Muskegon 's establishments together for two great days of food and fun: The Taste of Muskegon. The Taste will take place June 23 and 24 in downtown Muskegon between 3 rd and 4 th Streets on Western Avenue . The event is being co-promoted by Racquet's Downtown Grill and Muskegon Main Street . The Taste will feature 20 of Muskegon 's iconic establishments, including the Sardine Room, 750 Grill, Scales, the Tipsy Toad Tavern, and, of course, Racquets Downtown Grill. A beverage tent featuring micro-brews and a selection of wine from Muskegon's own Clay Avenue Cellars, will be on hand. The 5th Annual Muskegon Main Street Car Show will run simultaneously to the event on June 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Live music will run through out the two day event. “Muskegon area residents love their local hot spots and this Taste event will be a great celebration of food in an outdoor summer festival atmosphere”, said Allen Serio, chair of the event. “We are sure this event will hit a sweet spot with locals and visitors alike, and will bring lots of people downtown Muskegon to witness the transformation that is taking place”. |
